U13C - Pool of 7 - Tiebreaking Procedure
Here is the detail on how the 7-Team U13C Pool works:
1) When there is a pool of 7 teams, the following is conducted:
2) For these games, Wins are worth 2 points, a Tie - one point and zero for a Loss.
3) Once each team has played 2 Round Robin Games games, teams are reseeded 1 thru 7
based on the results. If teams are tied, see tiebreaker formula below.
4a) TIE BREAKER FOR TWO TEAMS OR MORE REESEEDING:
4.1) The team that scored the greater number of goals in the games played, during the
competition, between the teams that tied shall be declared the winner of the higher
position. (HEAD TO HEAD)
4.2) If a tie still exists, the Goal Average Formula will be used to break the tie, all goals
scored in the games during the competition shall be used in the goal average computation.
Goals For *divided by* Goals For plus Goals Against = Goal Average . Max differential per
any game is 12 regardless of the final score.
4.3) If a tie still exists the team with least carded fouls in all Round Robin games played shall
be declared the winner.
4.4) If a tie still exists then mylax rankings will decide the winner (i.e. whomever came into
provincials with a higher rank).
5. After these tiebreakers are resolved, we have teams RERANKED again 1 thru 7. Whoever
is ranked #1 gets a bye to the semi-finals. There are 3 quarterfinal elimination games.
a) 2 vs 7 b) 3 vs 6 c) 4 vs 5 based on the round robin rankings.
6) Winners of the 3 quarterfinal games advance to semis. The 3 losers of these quarterfinal
games are eliminated.
7) The lowest ranked winner of these 3 games will play the #1 seed that had the bye. For
example, if Seed 2, 6 and 5 won the games above. Semis would be 1 vs 6 and 2 vs 5.
8) All regular OWFL overtime rules apply if any elimination game is tied after regulation.
